This movie definitely worth a watch.
It begins with a face of an pale, eyebrow-less, old, soon to die woman. She is lying on a window side hospital bed. Barely hard to moves or breathes. Her daughter is by her side accompanying her. The TV is showing a live news, the weather reporter is anxiously reporting that a 5th level hurricane is coming and sending alert to everyone. The nurses and doctors in the hospital are busy allocating all the patients and do what they can do to minimal the damage that may caused by hurricane. But the weather outside the window seems fine, is just the wind is stronger than normal days. Hardly opens her mouth, she speaks. Her voice is dragged, low, soar and old. She can not speaks a complete sentence in one breathe. With a murmuring type of speaking, she tells her daughter a story. A story about a heart-broken blind clockmaker, who was assigned to build a large, grand clock for the local train station. The clockmaker's son died while serving the US army and while he is working on this big clock. He never cried on his son's death, grieved in silent, continue to work on this clock. On the day of launching of this big clock, everyone in the town was there to celebrate it. And when the clock started to tick, everyone is stunned. The clock worked anti-clockwise. He said the purpose he made the clock like this is to hope that time can be restored back. Hoping time can return so that his son will be back to them, alive. After telling this story, she asks her daughter to take an old brown diary out of her suitcase and read to her. Her daughter starts to read the diary. And so the story of Benjamin Button starts.
The woman is Daisy, love of the life of Benjamin Button, and also the father of her daughter. Sadly her daughter, Caroline, never knows who her father was, until she reads this diary.
Benjamin Button is the story teller of his life, he narrates the story by himself. Until the end of his life, which his life ended when he is in a form of baby, Daisy continues the narration and tells her daughter how her father's life end.
I am not going to tell u the rest of the story. My english isn't good and I can't write the whole story out.
Here I want to share with you some part that makes me love this movie. The actor & actress.
I am not a big fan of Brad Pitt. I know he is gorgeously handsome but I never know he can act.
It is quite frightening how Benjamin Button look like when he was born.
Like this.
Scary little creature with crumpled skin. If you see this baby you'll get shock too.
Then his father, who is a rich factory owner, can't accept this baby as his beloved wife died while giving birth to him. He thinks the baby is a monster. So he dumped him, gave him away by leaving him on the staircase of an old folk home.
Luckily he grows younger and handsome, like this! The handsome Brad Pitt.
Cate Blanchett look beautiful and elegant while she is in early 40s, with her middle-divided, long, straight and silky red hair. She was a brilliant ballerina with bright future. But who knows what comes in future? Her leg is broken in an accident. The accident's aftermath is she is not able to dance gracefully anymore.
Benjamin loves her more than anyone. Although Daisy rejects his offer to help, but he stays around her during her recovery without her notice. And so her love story with Benjamin Button starts here.
Beside both of them, my all-time favourite actress, Tilda Swinton participated in this movie too.
In this movie, she is a married woman that has an affair with Benjamin Button when he was a sailor. Her husband is a spy. They meet each other at midnight, at the hotel lobby that they stays. At first they are just normal friends, talks to each other about the places they've been and things they've seen. Days goes by and their relationship expand to the intimate one. Benjamin encourages her to retry her dream, that is to swim across the ocean. How their relationship ends? Unexpectedly and quietly. She left him without notice with her husband. Oh, she wrote a note for him "It was nice to meet you."
I don't why I cried when Benjamin Button left his wife. He left because he doesn't want to burden her. I cried because of his unwillingness to leave his love ones.
Oh, not to mention there are two characters worth to be noticed. Firstly is the caring and lovely black woman who adopted him. Next is his tug boat captain. He wants to be an artist but his whole life was a sailor. He claimed that he is an artist because his artwork is actually all the tattoos on his body. He did it by himself. Lastly, he died in a not-welcomed war.
There are few moral from this story. You really gotta appreciate what you have in present, and do not expect too much in your future. And your life will have no regrets if you had something really beautiful.
hahaha. Watch the movie and let's see whether you agree with my views or not.
