Had a fab birthday!

(The whole post is about how Shyong celebrated my birthday with me) xD

Is my birthday and I can't believe I woke up at 3pm and felt extremely regret.
I had wasted half of the day of my bday.

Shyong tried to wake me up from 11am I guess but I keep ignoring his call and even put my phone in silent mode.

When I am sleeping I can't control what I am doing, all that I know is I want to sleep and no one can disturb me.

Around 3pm I called him, asking where he want to bring me.
To my disappointment he answered :
"anywhere u want to go. Sunway?"
I am sad because he acted like we can go anywhere. He didn't plan at all.
And our transport will be taxi! Can't he think about how costy is the taxi fare nowadays?
He said :"Aiyah, go bath now and go out! it is already 3pm!"

Woookie. I bathed and went to 1st floor to grab 2 copies of Times magazine.
He called me telling me he had reached my hostel.
I walked to the place outside our hostel where we usually meet, but there is no sign of him.

Suddenly, I heard a loud screech of car brakes behind me.
I turned and saw him, smiling happily and proud in a car.

wtf. Who's car is this and where he get it?
I was yelling at him outside the car and refused to get in.
In the end he convinced me to get in and about to bring me to a special place.

Cuppacakes are always there when both of us are celebrating something.

Previous year Im in Kuantan so he bring it back to me.
This year he don't have to do that! He brought me to their shop.
Weeee.

On the journey to SS15 he gave me this,

a bean!

Okay there is a story why he got this for me but I don plan to tell here because that story is not short and I don think you guys will be interested with that =D

Okay. Back to cuppacakes's store.

Maybe because of the hot weather, noisy car sound and messy shoplots, I am pretty surprised with where the shop located.
It is surrounded by a lot of car maintainance shop and the environment around there doesn't looks like such a nice and cute restaurant will be here.

When we got into the shop, it is totally different with what it looks out there, nothing of the exterior hints what is about the interior.
The creativity of the owners amazed me, the theme and concept of the design is just like it is presented in their homepage.

I can see that they poured their ideas in every single corner of the shop, including the ceilings!
Their trademarks reindeers and sparrows can be seen everywhere.

Of course, what captivated me the most is the range of cute, adorable and delightful cupcakes!
And they claimed that they baked it fresh everyday.

Each cupcakes is RM4.50. It is abit pricy.

"Drink More Milk" is their moto.
It even printed on the coffee jacket.
What's the meaning of drink more milk?

We picked 6 cupcakes, each with different flavours, one seasonal fruit juice, macadamia coffee and a JustCheese baked potato to go with it!

I forgot which one represent what flavour.

But my favourite is this :

Shit lookalike, peanut butter flavoured and I heart it the most!

If I am not mistaken, it is chocolate fantasy =D

As it always is, the cupcakes are tasty & yummylicious as usual!


Without finding out what seasonal fruit juice im having, I bit the seed and was irritated by the sourness. Ewww. It is more sour than lemon!
So I finished it by swallow the seeds without chewing it.


Lastly, my all-time favourite, baked potato with cheese =D

I am greedy and selfish when it comes to cheese baked potato.

Walked around the store, exploring their awesome goodies and items while finishing my drinks.
Their necklace is nice, yet, abit pricy =D

Bean is so cuteee!

Oh ya, I took their tray mat and it is now pasted on my wall.

Shyong : Mission accomplished, she is happy !

Night, he brought me to a very decent place for our dinner.

I actually took a nap because of the heavy jam. I HATE traffic jam.
My mood was ruined by the jam and the malfunction of car aircond.

He woke me up when we're about to reach.

At a very busy traffic intersection, in front of Dewan Bahasa Pustaka, signboard and shop itself isn't outstanding, there is where Cafe Cafe, a French cuisine restaurant located.

I am speechless when I walked into this restaurant.
I mean, how he will get to know this place and why he will want to bring me to a fine dining restaurant? Im touched.

Welcomed and greeted politely by the foreign workers, I was totally dazed by the ambience of Cafe Cafe.

It looks like an old French restaurant, somewhere around mid-19th century, and abit of Victorian touch.
It reminded me the movie :
The Phantom of the Opera and Moulin Rouge.

With the great Parisian atmosphere, romantic is all that what I felt.

What came into my eye first is the crystal dangled from the ceiling, and also the chandeliers.
Because of the dim lightning, it looks like stars twinkling above our head!

At the moment, I seriously wished I am a good photographer so that I can capture some magnificent photos and share with you here. Too bad im not.

Lit candles are on every table even though it is empty.
As you can see, wine glasses, napkins and cutlery are neatly prepared on it too.

The very pleased bday girl.

We were arranged to a table near the entrance, so that I will have the full view of the restaurant.

Because of the chandeliers and a balcony up there with a big flock of Victorian-feel cloth hanging there, I started to think is that possible that suddenly phantom will jumps out, waving his sword and perhaps sing an opera?
I wish that will happen so much.

Took sometime to went through the menu.
Aiks, most of it are in French. I am too shy to ask what is it even though I don't understand. Luckily there are english description under some dishes.

Eventually I did made some enquiries from the foreign waiter, pathetically their english wasn't smooth and they don't seems like understand the menu very well. Yet, their service was great.

I had freshly squeezed orange juice. Rm18 per glass. *ouch*

Shyong said it is usually fully booked during weekends.
I am lucky enough to have my bday on wednesday and by the time we arrived, there is only 2 tables of customer.

Instead of A La Carte, we took a different dinner set.

Our dinner was started with bread & butter!
I ate the bread bare-hand because it is too hard to cut with knife!

Followed by a mini portion of cheese prawns.
I don't realise that was prawns until the dinner ended.
No wonder my gums started to swell and itchy during the dinner.

Next, is French Snails with bread.

The couple behind Shyong started to smoke and I don't feel good of having a pleasant dinner with the accompaniment of 2nd hand smoke.
So we requested to change table.
I don't know why they allow customer to smoke in an indoor, air conditioned space.

Im unhappy with the smokes.
Pumpkin Soup!

They rearranged our table to a further spot from the smoking couple.
Yeaps, I love this table and the whole area was just me and him!

So I got a new view of Cafe Cafe.

My chicken breast.

His lamb shank.

Cheeses and fresh grapes.

There is two type of chesse. One is abit creamy and I ate it all, as for the other one, the taste of cheese is very rich and I can't finish it even though it is just a small piece.


His lemon sorbet. Smooth texture, and not so sour.Shyong is so nice to gave me half of the sorbet because I am terrified by the strong cheese. Grapes are not enough to moderate the cheesy smell away!

Lastly, dessert.

My chocolate tart.

His very sour lemon tart.

Both tarts are so-so, not surprising or disappointing.

I wanted to make a move after our last dish but this fella kept finding reason to stay.

I sensed there is something going to happen but I am very impatient to wait for it.

Suddenly, the waiter served this to me from my back!

Awwwwh! So nice!

My birthday...mini cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Hahaha, I was still wondering whether there is a cake with candle for me while waiting for his surprise.

And here it is!
A candle for me to blow and to make my birthday wishes!

I scribbled something on it before eating the cake.

(They provide each birthday customer the same cake, is just the name is different.)

The cake is so effing AWESOME!!!
Best hot chocolate cake I've ever had until I am intended to lick the plate!
Better than the one I had in La Bodega last night.

Hah, bean attended the dinner too!

We didn't try their signature dishes such as Foie Gras, Tiramisu, mussels and scallops in black truffles as they are not included in the set (They should include it right?).

He thought of ordering foie gras (goose liver) but I dont allow him to do that because I heard from mom that the gooses are very pity as horrible way of producing the goose liver.

Hmmph, now im thinking to bring him here again during his bday to try all their signature dish and also the hot chocolate cake. Miss it badly right now.

The service in this fine dining restaurant was great & professional.
As an example, after I finish my soup, they took away my soup spoon as well because I am not using it later.
At first it was a foreign waiter responsible to my table and then it changed to a local chinese guy.
I prefer the latter because he is friendlier and he wished me happy birthday!

Not forget to mention the music.
Slow french music with sexy and lazy woman vocal are played.
I recognized one of the song, 'Sway'.

Harn wei gave me a week earlier.
I am happy with the present! She definitely got what I want as I am always looking for a romantic flora hair clip =D
I am touched because she got a present for me even though nowadays we don't spend much time together as she study in UUM and im in HELP UC.

Present from parents!
They banked in money and tell me to get whatever I want.
Hmm, I need a handbag badly. So I went for a handbag hunt.
Of course, it must be under my budget.
So alas, I choosed this Chanel inspired bag from Topshop.
What attracts me is the brilliant blue colour.

Awh, my parents had raised me for TWENTY years.
I will repay them very well in future!

A very nice birthday card from Shyong.
He know I miss my babies so much, so he drew all my pets in one card.

And my baby rabbits. Take a close look at Lawrence & Junior. They are now in heaven so there is a circle on top on them.

Now I am officially 20!
A fresh new page of my life.
In the future ten years, I will be graduating, exposing to the society, working, and perhaps marry and have babies!

Melissa once told me :"Once you are 20, very soon you'll be 30."
