Benefit's Brow Bar

Last year I trimmed my brow for free and from an unskilled beautician and that was my worst nightmare ever -.-

After that brow trimming thingy I was a joke by friends and family. That is dreary.
Since that horrible incident, I never trust any beautician that offered to trim my eyebrow (even though I know it should be trimmed)

The hairs on my brows are already thin and less, so there is no way for me to risk it to any unskilled eyebrow trimmer! If she accidentaly trim it to too thin / weird shape. My life will be ruined. I would have to wait for the brow hairs to regrow (and I don't think it will).

As I said just now, my brow hairs are already thin but why I still have to trim it?

Mom always complain that my brows shape are terrible and I need to go to a beauty centre.
There's a thing I don't really like about there is they always trim ppl's brow to a very thiiiiin line. They don't follow your face shape. They just do what they think is right.

My face is chubby and round, plus a thiiiiiiiin brow, it will look worst. -.-

I am having this phobia. So I just neglect her advices.

I still made some effort and do some research online. Most of the beauty website recommend Benefit's brow bar. But that time, it is not launch in Malaysia yet so it is impossible for me to fly over HK or Taiwan.

Until year 2009 ~ It finally reaches Malaysia!

But I didn't visit them immediately. Every time I pass by benefit counter, I look around, pretend like I am not interested xD
Because, my phobia is still haunting me. Finally I dare to go and ask for the price but dare not to tell her I want to trim my brow. And that time one brow trimming session is around RM60. Is a bit costy and what if it turns out to be worst? I dare not to pay RM60 for that.

Very coincidently, today I accompanied Mom to KLCC and passed by their counter and I can see they already reduced the price to RM38. Hmm, it is worth a try and mom agreed. (Actually she don't fully agree with my decision of trimming my brow at Benefit's. But I insisted and was abit stubborn in this issue.)

This time I have the courage to trim my brow mostly because my mom is here and she always asks me to do that.

My beautician is Michelle, a young chinese lady. She said she was sent to a professional training. Okay Benefit's is an international well-known brand so I trust them.

Oh ya, it is actually waxing. She said it is not THAT hurtful, the level of pain is almost like you pluck your hair from your armpit/legs/brows.

Before this, she asked me a few question. Questions are : Am I taking any antibiotics/anti-acne pills/medical supplement this week?

If I am, the waxing might peel off my skin as well.
Luckily all answers are "No."

Firstly she draw the outline of the shape that she is going to do for me and if I agree, she will start to do waxing according to the shape.

I have no idea what a nice brow should look like.
After she outlined the shape, and it got a pass from my mom so I guess it look alright for me. The only thing I want is NOT TOO THIN.

Because I am not a hairy one, so basically the waxing is just to remove the excess hairs outside the line, and makes it look more NEAT.
Michelle said it will be easier for me to draw the brows after the waxing as there is a shape as a guide.

Shape are confirmed and now we're ready to wax it!
I have never do waxing before, not even on legs.
I only heard from friends that waxing is painful but it only lasts few seconds.

She dugs the warm wax with the wooden ice cream spade from a pot.
The wax's colour is pearl white. She then explained it is pearl wax, skin-friendly, when it is pealed off your skin, it will be less painful and less red-ness compared to normal wax. (abit relieved.)

I double confirm with her again :"You sure it is not pain hor?"

She said :"You need not to scream. Why not we try on your hand?"
Then she applied the warm wax on the back on my hand, and quickly stick a cloth on it and PEEL!
Yay! It is not painful!

She said :"Great, you can take this so it should not be a problem for you. It is a little bit more painful on your brows."

My heart was thumping really fast when she is applying the wax between my brows and after she peeled, she quickly placed her thumb on the freshly-waxed skin to reduce the pain.

Gee, it feels like sticking the cellphone tape on the skin then quickly peel it away.
Can you imagine it?

I have a blog so of course I want to take picture lah.
Then I handed my camera to my mom asked her to take some photo but she refused to do it, giving me all sort of reasons just to tell me that is not neccessory to take picture.

Finally I managed to pursue her to take ONE photo. And this is how it looks like ->

I took her photo too. She's busy trying all the products of Benefit's. Alas she bought a mascara & finishing powder from them.

The whole brow waxing/trimming only takes about 20 minutes.

She asked me to promote around my friends about this brow waxing service. Her service is great and I would love to do that.

Guys/Girls who has THICK/HAIRY eye brow and would like to have a change on your face, you really can go and try it.

Yes guys! Who say guys don't need a neatly trimmed eye brow?
All superb handsome guys in the entertainment business like Dean Fujioka, (I only show Asians)
Takeshi Kaneshiro, Wang Lee Hom, Korean handsome boy band (DBSK, BIG BANG!), (taken from JiYan's blog, your prince GD)
Farenheit all trimmed their eye brows. Even Gary Chaw does that!
Some examples of beautiful ladies. Our local sweetheart.

There's a fact that saying : Once your brow are well-shaped, your face are actually half-done from make up.

And believe me, you'll look really different.

They are new in Malaysia. The price was higher but due to the slow response from the market, they decided to do a price reduction, hoping to gain and retain more customer with this reasonable price.
And also to boost the market especially after recession hits and the cosmetics business are facing really hard times.

I think the price is okay because the was they are using are pearl wax and all the equipment are imported from US. Only Benefit's has it.

So, does it looks NEATER?
*pray hard hard that it is not a failure again.*

I hear you about having you brows to thin, I hate that too. The last time I tried to trim them by myself it was bad.
