One day in school, I flipped through the NST and saw an interview of Malaysian successful director，Yasmin Ahmad.
She is also the director of Sepet and other meaningful movie.
The interview is about her commercial work especially a commercial named "Tan Hong Ming" and is released under Petronas during the celebration of Merdeka.
There is a meaningful sentence in the end,
“ Our Children Is Colour Blind, Should We Keep Them That Way? ”
But, I don't see adults are not colour blind.
There is still many of cross-races relationship around us.
This commercial has won her three awards at the 2008 International ANDY awards in New York.
It is about a chinese boy, Tan Hong Ming said that he likes a girl named Ummi because she wears ear ring, tie pony tail and pretty.
But he dare not to tell her because his friend will laugh him.
The crew then find Ummi and asked her who is her boyfriend.
Surprisingly she said :" Tan Hong Ming"
Oh my god you gotta see Tan's expression after she said that.
So happy, excited and unbelivable.
My friends said it is very natural and maybe this won her the award.
According to the interview, Yasmin's director friend was interested with Tan
and want him to be in another commercial but Tan refused to speak.
Luckily Tan was in good mood on the shooting day.
After 9 months, Yasmin went to the school and visit the kids.
She was told that Tan still fancies Ummi. How cute~
