my butter cake ! (^.^)

Last week, I decided to make a cake. So I asked a recipe fr hui yuan of the easiest cake, Butter Cake.
After a few days, I went to the supermarket and got all the ingredients I need.





After a hard time, this is my first butter cake !!


Smells really good.

Look nice for first attempt right?
Unfortunately, maybe the baking time aren't enough, or I really don't know the reason, the inner layer look so sticky and doesn't taste well!


Ee Kie and Eu Chen tasted. Their comment was not too sweet and not oily. Yeah! I made a healthy cake.

I combined their comments and told my dad he have to eat it because it is healthy. =p




The next day I brought it to sch and give my classmate to taste especially hui yuan. She can tell me where the problem is! She said maybe i bake not enough time or I didn't beat well the mixture. Wei Hong said I didn't beat enough long. Harn Wei's comment quite weird. She said taste like ginger~ awh.


Next day, i decided to make two smaller size butter cake. Hoping this time will be successful, no more sticky layer inside.

Now this is my 2nd attempt.

hahaha! What a failing shape! It suppose to come out with a Love shape but look at it! Failed failed and failed. The left side cake with darker colour is coffee flavour. The taste of coffee isn't heavy enough. =p










Third time!


I accidentaly mixed too many cocoa powder with the mixture, at the same time i reduce the sugar. So, both of the cake taste tooooo heavy bitter cocoa.

And this time, i extend the baking time to 50 mintues and the result is no more sticky layer !!!
Yeah!!

Thanks my mom and dad finishing all the cakes..




~ Butter Cake Recipe ~


250g unsalted butter
250g castor sugar
250g flour
5 egg yolks
5 egg white
half tsp of baking powder
half tsp of sodium bicarbonate / baking soda.


(All the ingredients above can get easily from any supermarket!)

First, all u need is an oven, a electronic mixer and baking tray.

1. Beat the egg whites until bubbly and like jelly .
2. Pour the harden egg whites in a bowl and put it aside.
3. Beat the butter till creamy.
4. Add in castor sugar.
5. Add in the egg whites.
6. Add in the egg yolks (not necessary one by one)
7. Add in baking powder and baking soda.
8. Last but not least, flour.
9. Beat the mixture as long as 8 minutes to make sure it mix well.
10. Preheat ur oven 180celcius for 10minutes.
11. Place a sheets of aluminium foil in ur container.
12. Pour the mixture into ur container.
13. Put it inside the oven and let it bake for around 45-50 minutes!
14. Make sure you wear a glove when u deal with the oven!

if u want to make a smaller cake, the ratio of one egg to butter, flour and sugar is 1 egg : 50g.

What i wrote above is based on my experience and what hui yuan taught me!
